Managed Service

Backup & Restore

Protected copies of what the business cannot afford to lose, with a recovery route that has been tested before you need it. We manage the full cycle: configuration, monitoring and restore, across endpoints and Microsoft 365.

Business Challenges

Problems that stay invisible until the day they matter

Backup failures rarely announce themselves. The gap between what leadership assumes is protected and what is actually recoverable is where the real risk sits.

01

Uncertain recovery

Backups may be running, but no one has confirmed they can actually be restored. The first test comes on the day you need the data back, which is the worst possible time to discover a problem.

02

Unmonitored backups

A backup job that fails silently on Monday looks identical to one that succeeded. Without daily monitoring, weeks can pass before anyone notices the gap, and by then the retention window has closed.

03

Data lost to everyday mistakes

A deleted mailbox, an overwritten file, a misconfigured policy. Most data loss is not dramatic. It is an ordinary action by an ordinary person, and it is only recoverable if a backup was there to catch it.

Our Approach

A managed backup service, not a configured tool

We own the full lifecycle: configure backup policies, monitor every job, and execute restores when needed. You know what is protected, how recently, and what it would take to get it back.

01

Assess

We review what data exists, where it lives, what is currently backed up and what is not. This becomes the scope for the backup configuration.

02

Configure

We set up backup policies, schedules, retention rules and storage destinations across endpoints and Microsoft 365, then verify the first successful backup.

03

Monitor

Every backup job is monitored. Failures are identified, documented and resolved. You receive regular confirmation that protection is in place.

04

Maintain

As your environment changes, backup configurations are updated to match. New workloads are added, retired ones are removed, and policies are kept current.

Service Inclusions

What Backup & Restore covers

Six managed services covering endpoints and Microsoft 365. Each follows the same discipline: configure, monitor, restore.

01Endpoint Backup ManagementProtect the data on your workstations and laptops so a lost, damaged or compromised device never means lost work.Policy setupSchedulingEncryptionVerification

In practice

Backup policies, schedules, retention rules and storage destinations are configured per device class. Encryption is applied where supported, and every initial backup is verified before the device is considered protected.

02Microsoft 365 Backup ManagementIndependent backups of your cloud productivity data so accidental deletions, ransomware or tenant issues do not mean permanent data loss.Exchange OnlineOneDriveSharePointTeams

In practice

Tenant-level backup settings cover Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Teams and Entra ID. Retention policies and schedules are configured per workload, and each initial backup is verified before the service is marked active.

03Endpoint Backup MonitoringOngoing verification that your device backups are completing successfully, with failures caught and resolved before they create gaps in protection.Job statusFailure alertsRemediation

In practice

Scheduled backup operations are monitored for completion status. Failures are identified, documented and remediated using standard procedures so no device silently falls out of protection.

04Microsoft 365 Backup MonitoringOngoing verification that your cloud backups are running on schedule, so your organisation's email, files and collaboration data stay protected.Job statusFailure alertsRemediation

In practice

M365 backup jobs are monitored for successful execution across all protected workloads. Failures are identified, documented and remediated so organisational data protection remains consistent.

05Endpoint Backup Restore ManagementWhen data needs to come back, restore requests are validated and executed so your team recovers what they need with minimal delay.Request validationScoped restoreVerified recovery

In practice

Restore requests are received, validated for scope and authorisation, and executed from verified backup sets in accordance with defined recovery policies and agreed expectations.

06Microsoft 365 Backup Restore ManagementRecovery of cloud data when it matters most, covering email, files, sites and team conversations from independently held backups.Request validationScoped restoreVerified recovery

In practice

Approved restore requests recover Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint Online and Teams data. Scope and authorisation are verified before execution, and restores run from independently held backup sets.

Business Outcomes

What changes when backups are managed properly

01

Verified recoverability

You know that backups are completing because someone is checking them, not because you are assuming they are.

02

Faster, calmer restores

When data needs to come back, there is a defined process and a tested route rather than a scramble to find out what was backed up and when.

03

Clear retention policies

What is kept, for how long, and where it is stored are documented decisions rather than default settings no one reviewed.

04

Continuous oversight

Backup jobs are monitored daily. Failures are identified, documented and remediated rather than left to accumulate silently.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about Backup & Restore

If yours is not here, it is usually the most useful one to ask.

Ask us yours
01Does Microsoft 365 not already back up our data?

Microsoft provides infrastructure resilience, not data backup in the traditional sense. If a user deletes a mailbox or a file is overwritten, Microsoft's native retention has limits. An independent backup gives you a separate, recoverable copy with retention you control.

02How quickly can data be restored?

It depends on the volume of data and the restore type. A single mailbox or folder is typically fast. A full endpoint restore takes longer. We set expectations as part of the backup configuration so you know before you need it, not during.

03Does this include disaster recovery planning?

No. This service covers backup configuration, monitoring and restore execution. Disaster recovery and business continuity planning are separate disciplines and are not included. What we do provide is the data protection layer that any recovery plan depends on.

04What happens if a backup fails?

Failed backups are identified through daily monitoring, documented, and remediated where possible. If a failure requires action from your side, we will tell you what is needed and why, rather than leaving it as an unread alert.

05Can we start with just Microsoft 365 backup?

Yes. Most clients start with the workload that matters most and extend coverage later. The service is structured so endpoint and Microsoft 365 backup can be adopted independently or together.

Let's make sure your data is actually recoverable.

Tell us what you need protected. We will tell you honestly what it involves and what you can expect.
